Yes — with insulation and heat, a container office is comfortable through Interior and Northern BC winters. Spray foam insulation, framed interior walls and electric heat are the standard cold-climate package.

Simple modifications like an extra door can be quick; a fully finished office takes longer. Build time depends on the spec and our current queue — your quote includes a committed timeline.

A licensed electrician we contract roughs in the panel, wiring, outlets and fixtures at our Kamloops yard, so the unit is ready for final connection and inspection by a licensed electrician in your jurisdiction. We'll walk you through exactly what's included in your quote.

Ask us — depending on the work and the container's condition, it's often possible. If your unit is rough, it's sometimes cheaper to start from a fresh used container than to rehabilitate an old one; we'll give you straight advice either way.

They show how an item is counted. Steel doors, sliding windows and the HVAC pre-wire are priced each, so two windows count twice. Framing, insulation, undercarriage foam and the basic electrical package are priced per container, once for the whole unit. Fitment for your container and layout is confirmed line by line in your itemized quote.

“Our standard” marks Valleyview’s default choices for insulated builds: steel stud framing and rigid foam board insulation, which the site office, workshop and pop-up packages use. “On request” marks fibreglass batts, which are fitted only when a buyer specifically asks, because they are not Valleyview’s preference inside a steel box: wet fibreglass loses most of its insulating value and stays wet. You can choose any option on the menu.

Each is the low end of the base container’s catalogue price plus every modification listed on the card at its published menu rate. The site office is an inspected used 20ft plus a door, two windows, steel stud framing, rigid foam and the basic electrical package. Figures are before tax and delivery. Items listed as “Quoted per design”, such as heat, finished walls or shelving, are not included. On the pop-up shop, the paint colour and any paint cost are confirmed in your quote.

Because each of those builds is designed for one site: the engineering and permit drawings depend on that site and on what the local government requires, and the finished interior is built to your spec. That work can’t be priced from the modification menu, so Valleyview quotes each one per design and publishes no starting price. Send the civic address and what the space is for, and the quote follows once the site and requirements are known.

Yes for the openings: the door line is the cut-in and install of a 36-inch steel door with a commercial lockset, and the window line is the cut-in and install of a sliding window with a screen and security bars. Framing and insulation are fitted in the Kamloops yard as part of the build. The basic electrical package is roughed in for your electrician, whose final hookup on site is arranged and paid for separately.

As current as the review date printed under the menu. The figures are the same line items Valleyview quotes and invoices from, and they can change. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus tax and delivery. Your written, itemized quote sets the final figure, with fitment and anything quoted per design confirmed there, and nothing is built until you approve it.

Yes. The packages are starting points, not fixed kits: add another window, swap rigid foam for closed-cell spray foam, or leave out an item you don’t need, and each change is priced line by line from the same menu. The Container Studio lets you lay out one personnel door and up to two sliding windows and choose framing, insulation and electrical in 3D, with a priced subtotal that updates as you go; anything beyond that, such as a third window, is confirmed in your quote.

Yes. Roll-up doors for equipment access are one of the door options, either on their own or alongside a steel personnel door on the same unit. They are quoted per design rather than listed on the price menu, and they aren’t in the Container Studio, so tell Valleyview the opening you need, which wall it should go on and what will move through it when you ask for a quote.

Cutting an opening removes structural steel, so each door and window opening is reframed, and that reframing is part of Valleyview’s modification work. Keep openings clear of the corner posts; the Container Studio checks this as you place a door or window. Joining containers needs structural reinforcement, and stacking, adding a roof or cutting large openings can lead a local government to treat the container as a building, so plan those with Valleyview and check local rules before anything is cut.

A 100A panel, four LED interior lights, four 15A receptacles and an exterior weatherproof outlet, roughed in at the yard for your electrician’s final hookup. That suits lights, chargers and hand tools. A welder, compressor or electric heater each needs a dedicated 240V circuit, which is roughed in per design, so list the equipment you’ll run when you ask for a quote.

It’s a dedicated circuit and a wall penetration ready for a mini-split or rooftop HVAC unit, priced each on the menu. The unit itself isn’t included: mini-splits, baseboard heaters and extractor fans are quoted per design, because the right choice turns on your site, your power and your spec. Plan the insulation at the same time, since bare steel sweats and turns cold without it.

It depends on how the space is used. Rigid foam board is Valleyview’s default for offices and workshops. For space that is heated and occupied all winter, especially in the North, closed-cell spray foam is the recommendation: it has the highest R-value on the menu and a full air seal, it’s what the 40ft crew unit package uses, and it costs some interior width. Rock wool is the fire-resistant, sound-dampening pick beside noisy equipment or a welding bench.

It’s closed-cell spray foam applied to the underside of the floor. It keeps cold out of the plywood deck and helps on frost-heave sites, which is why the farm and ranch storage package includes it. It’s simple to add in the yard and awkward once the container is on your site, so decide before delivery if the unit will be heated or used through winter.

Yes. Vents and turbines are part of the window and ventilation options, along with sliding windows and security-barred openings, and they are quoted per design rather than listed on the price menu. Ventilation helps most on a unit that sees temperature swings, where condensation can damage stored contents. Equipment enclosures can get louvred vents or forced ventilation, planned around the equipment’s spec sheet.

Yes. Heavy-duty shelving, workbenches, lockable parts cages and dividing walls are available to organize the space, and each is quoted per design. Tell Valleyview what you’ll store or do in each part of the container so the layout suits it. On a 40ft high cube, a partition wall can split the length into an office and a second room; plan where each room’s door and windows go before anything is cut.

Yes. Used and one-trip 20ft containers are both inspected, wind and watertight, and take the same modifications. A used base keeps the cost down but shows dents and faded paint; a one-trip base has straight walls and fresh factory paint, which suits an office or shop your customers will see. Swapping the base changes the container line, and the modifications are still priced from the same menu.

Mainly the windows and the quoted extras. The site office has two barred sliding windows and lists finished walls and flooring, heat, and a desk and shelving as quoted extras; the workshop has one window and lists workbenches, shelving, parts cages, a roll-up door and compressed-air or 240V circuits. Both start from an inspected used 20ft with a 36-inch steel door, steel stud framing, rigid foam and the basic electrical package.

Yes. The studio starts at the catalogue price of the container you pick and adds each priced modification at the published menu rates, so its subtotal is the number Valleyview quotes from. It isn’t a quote: tax, delivery, paint, final finishes and site work are left out, and anything marked “Quote required” is excluded from the subtotal. Final scope and price are confirmed in a written quote.

Yes. The same doors, windows, framing, insulation and electrical can go on other sizes: the crew unit package uses them on a 40ft high cube, and the Container Studio lays out a 10ft, 20ft or 40ft high cube. The studio allows one sliding window on a 10ft. For space people will work in, a high cube keeps more headroom after insulation. Your quote confirms each line for the size you choose.

The 20ft refrigerated container, or reefer, is listed at $27,000–$30,000 plus tax and delivery. It has insulated walls and a working refrigeration unit for cold or frozen storage. It needs 3-phase power on site, typically 460V, so also plan for a qualified electrician to install the outlet and wiring, or a diesel generator on an off-grid site. Confirm your electrical service before ordering; Valleyview can advise on the requirements.

It needs the same kind of preparation over a longer spot. The ground still has to be firm, level and well-drained, with support under the four corner castings, but on a 40ft those corners sit about 40 feet apart end to end, so check the whole length for soft or low spots and take more care getting all four level with each other. The truck needs more room too: at least 110 feet of straight, clear length including the container’s final spot, against 72 feet for a 20ft. It also needs more overhead room while the deck tilts, so ask for the height your site needs when you book.

Give them your address and what the container is for, then ask five things: what zone the property is in and whether containers or accessory structures are allowed; the setbacks from property lines, septic fields, wells and watercourses; whether it counts toward lot coverage; whether a permit, siting plan, screening or finish colour is required, and any time limit; and whether ALR, floodplain, a development permit area, a strata or a covenant applies.

It can be requested, but it isn’t the default. Valleyview’s terms say full payment is typically required before delivery unless a different arrangement is agreed in writing. If a large or funded order needs milestone billing, ask for it when you request the quote, and give the company name the formal invoices should be made out to. Whatever is agreed, including any deposit, the payment method and the due dates, is set out on your quote and invoice.

Yes. A container gives a crew a lockable steel room on site, so tools and materials stay overnight instead of riding home in the trucks. A welded lock box over a puck lock is the usual job-site setup, with the doors facing where people can see them. If the crew needs heat and power, it can be fitted out as a tool crib or workshop. When the job ends, it lifts back onto a tilt-deck for the next site; call Valleyview to ask about the move.
