Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a shipping container cost in BC?+
Prices vary by size, condition, and configuration. Used 20ft containers start around $2,500 CAD; brand new 20ft one-trip containers run $3,700–$4,200 depending on colour. New 40ft high-cubes are $6,200–$7,100, used 40ft high-cubes $3,500–$4,000. Refrigerated 20ft reefers $27,000–$30,000. All prices plus tax and delivery.
What sizes of shipping containers do you offer?+
10ft, 20ft, and 40ft containers in standard and high-cube heights. Configurations include single-door, double-door (doors at both ends), side-door, refrigerated, and other specialty units.
Do you deliver shipping containers across BC?+
Yes. We deliver throughout Interior and Northern BC including Kamloops, Prince George, Williams Lake, Kelowna, Vernon, Salmon Arm, Quesnel, and 100 Mile House. Free delivery quotes; rate depends on distance and site access.
Do I need a permit for a shipping container in BC?+
It depends on your municipality. Most rural areas do not require a permit for short-term or storage use; urban areas often do. Check with your local planning department before placing a container.
What's the difference between a new (one-trip) and used container?+
New (one-trip) containers are factory-fresh, used only for a single voyage from the manufacturer. They come in factory RAL colours with full structural warranty. Used containers (cargo-worthy) have been in service but are wind & watertight, inspected, and significantly cheaper — perfect for storage.
How long do shipping containers last?+
With basic maintenance — keeping doors lubricated, touching up paint, and placing on a level surface — a shipping container easily lasts 25 years or more. The CORTEN steel they're built from is designed for marine use.
Can I customize or modify a container?+
Yes. We can arrange or quote modifications including doors, windows, vents, electrical, insulation, lockboxes, and full conversions for offices, workshops, and tiny homes.
What's the difference between a 40ft standard and a 40ft high cube?+
A 40ft standard container is 8'6" tall (interior ~7'10"). A 40ft high cube is 9'6" tall (interior ~8'10") — a full extra foot of height for tall items, mezzanines, or comfortable conversions. Footprint and length are identical.
